Community & Teaching Programmes

Volunteer in Africa on one of our amazing programmes!

Wildlife conservation can only be successful if local communities are engaged, educated and positive. We offer a range of cultural immersion, teaching and community development projects, either as part of our wildlife programmes or as separate stand-alone projects.

We believe that conservation can only be effective if a value is placed on the environment and its protection. Volunteers work in local communities to raise awareness of conservation management, teach them the importance of preserving wild areas and engage them in mutually beneficial projects. Part of all our wildlife conservation programmes involve community engagement and empowerment, helping people to further their own lives in a positive way and giving volunteers the opportunity to experience alternative cultures.

Community volunteering ranges from teaching in rural schools, to helping local women with livelihood development projects and assisting communities with poverty alleviation programmes. Volunteers will meet dedicated, hard-working teachers and community leaders, and inspirational children who are desperate to learn. Literacy programmes revolve around teaching English to children who may struggle with exam questions because of a lack of primary education. Volunteers will also teach children about the importance of wildlife conservation and how to help protect the environment.

The communities will touch you, just as your involvement expands their horizons.
