Brand new project! Anti-Poaching & Wildlife Management

11 March 2015

We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new volunteer programme in Zimbabwe! Based on the shores of Lake Kariba in northern Zimbabwe, you will join river and land anti-poaching teams as you patrol this beautiful wilderness area.

Be one of the first anti-poaching volunteers on this project as you join operational patrols and support rangers on the front line of critical anti-poaching activities. Learn about the daily challenges facing those fighting poaching and be part of the solution.

Lake Kariba is one of Zimbabwe's most popular holiday destinations and one of the region's best-kept secrets. Africa's largest man-made lake is a 290km-long freshwater paradise, home to the ferocious tiger fish, large herds of elephants, huge pods of hippo and stunning sunsets! Surrounded by the spectacular Matusadona mountains and to the haunting sound of the fish eagle, you will camp on the shores of the lake and assist local scouts and rangers with river monitoring for fish poachers and snare patrols on land. Learn from expert trackers to identify the signs of poaching and collect data for patrol planning.

This is an awesome opportunity to be on the front line of the fight against poaching and to help restore one of Zimbabwe's most treasured wilderness areas.
