Conservation Experiences

Volunteer in Africa on one of our amazing programmes!

Experience Africa at its wildest!

Escape the confines of the traditional safari vehicle and learn about wildlife, the environment and local culture through intimate, hands-on experiences – not through a pair of binoculars! CTA students interact with keystone wildlife species through monitored handling and research projects. They contribute to conservancy development projects and spearhead community development projects.

Our Conservation Experiences place students in engaging environments that teach traditional classroom subjects through nontraditional, interactive and immersive adventures.

Our Conservation Experiences can be conducted at a range of locations depending on the time of year, the number of students and the length of your trip.

Each of our conservation programmes can incorporate all or a selection of the following activities:

Practical Wildlife Learning
Game monitoring and observation
Large mammal tracking
Bird and animal surveys
Research projects and data collection
Environmental audits
Game park maintenance

Bush and Wildlife Theory
Conservation: practices, challenges and current events
Animal and bird identification
Animal and bird behavior
Endangered species

We work with each school, teacher or student to customise any itinerary or build a completely unique programme that aligns with your vision and school requirements.

Combine a wildlife conservation itinerary with a bush leadership course or a community service project! At Conservation Travel Africa, we are committed to providing each student with the experience of a lifetime.

Take a look at the sample itineraries in each of our amazing wildlife experiences below.

Karin T Switzerland I chose this project because there was not a lot of volunteers taken and it looked more personal. When I got there, I knew had I made the right decision! James G UK We chose this programme because it allowed us to bring our four children aged 8-12, enabling us to volunteer as a family. We stayed in a beautiful cottage with plenty of space and a lovely garden and the food was great - roast beef and yorkshire pudding was a highlight for me! On the old maps of...
