Community Development Experiences

Volunteer in Africa on one of our amazing programmes!

Immerse yourself in the culture of Africa’s most welcoming communities.

We believe that education and community development are the keys to long-term conservation success. Our community service programmes are designed to promote a greater global understanding of the need to preserve and protect our planet’s environmental, wildlife and cultural diversity.

Through cultural immersion and collaborative development efforts, CTA service projects aim first and foremost to effectively address community needs. We believe that by teaching our students to work with local community members to first identify, then plan and finally implement a service project, both our students and our local communities will benefit and grow together.

Community service experiences can be held at a number of locations depending on group focus and any other adventures you wish to incorporate into your trip.

Each experiences focuses on cultural and service-led projects. Itineraries can incorporate all or a selection of the following activities:

Homestay immersion
Traditional cooking and dance
Local customs and values
Small-scale agriculture and farming

Community Service
Permaculture gardening
Teaching in local schools
Community infrastructure and building projects
Agricultural projects
Sports matches

We work with each school, teacher or student to customise any itinerary or build a completely unique programme that aligns with your vision and school requirements.

Why not consider combining a community service programme with a bush leadership course or conservation experience.

Take a look at the sample itineraries in each of our Community Service Projects below.

James G UK We chose this programme because it allowed us to bring our four children aged 8-12, enabling us to volunteer as a family.
